Power Tools And Safety Regulations

Power tools have largely taken over from hand tools all around the world, because they allow individuals to get more work done in an alloted space of time. Power tools work far more quickly than hand tools and without the operative having to expend a lot of energy having to turn a handle or push a saw.

However, the improved productivity that power tools deliver comes at a price: 1] you have to pay for the electricity that drives the equipment and 2] there is an increased risk to the operative’s health and safety. The cost of the electricity should be more than easily covered by the increased productivity, but health and safety is often overlooked until it is too late.

People seem to not comprehend the potential dangers of an inexpert person using a power tool. For example, a slip with a hand saw, usually means an ugly joint, but a slip with a power saw can cost a finger; a miss while hammering a nail home can cost a bruised finger or an ugly dent, but a slip with a nail gun can be like having a bullet in the leg.

This is why insurance companies have made it imperative for firms employing trades people to send their workers on health and safety courses. Claims from inexpert workers was becoming ludicrous as inexpert trades people gave up their old hand tool in favour of the powered alternative.

It caused a great deal of commotion in the Eighties and Nineties in the building industry among employers and employees alike to have to send people on courses about how to use power tools. In Britain, employers were not allowed to let a carpenter use a rotary saw, for instance, unless he or she could prove that they had been taught to use one. Most individuals were of the opinion that the health and safety people had gone too far.

But there were fewer accidents; less time off work due to injury and fewer claims against the insurance firms.

There was tremendous opposition in our building firm from the workforce, when we declared that nobody could sign out a power tool unless he/she had a valid safety certificate to confirm training in the use of that particular piece of apparatus.

We also had a joinery shop, where traditionally each carpenter could go to create anything he needed. Then this policy came in and only one carpenter out of forty was permitted to use the power tools. All of a sudden there was a rush to get safety certificates. The new laws had hurt people’s pride.

They thought that they were being told that they did not know their trade, but once they were disqualified from using power tools, they were made to look like inexpert apprentices again. So there was a rush to get a certificate and power tool companies would send a safety specialist to the workplace to train all the relevant tradesmen in the use of their power tools free of charge and pass out certificates.

Then our firm decided to get their ISO 9000 certificate and power tools had to be given certificates of inspection as well. So now we had to employ someone to look after the power tools.

Just tradesmen with certificates of competence could sign out a power tool and a power tool could only be signed out if it had a certificate to prove that it had been passed ‘safe to use’ within the last two months. All power tools had to have a certificate of reliability attached to it, a set of safety rules and a pair of safety glasses. That covered the firm from accusations of negligence.

That was 15-20 years ago in the building industry in the UK. I am not saying all this as a history lesson, but more to point out that people can go to a shop and buy or hire very hazardous power tools without having to establish competence. Professionals at work have to establish that they and the tools are up to the job, but the public does not.

I am not in favour of a new layer of bureaucracy, but I do want to make people aware of the danger of not knowing how to use power tools correctly and without even the most fundamental safety equipment.

Do not use power tools without safety glasses is the first rule. Shield your eyes from splinters and flying debris at all costs. A professional would, so so should you.

The Two Fundamental Types Of RC Cars

Do you like the notion of taking part in a real car race? Many people do, but the number of us that get the opportunity to drive a real racing car is tiny to infinitesimal. Lots of individuals would be too frightened to get behind the wheel of a real racing car anyway because the power of these vehicles is really awesome. However, there is a viable alternative and that is remote controlled car racing.

RC car racing is highly exciting, but there is scarcely any risk to the driver or the fans. The rest is all there: thrills, spills, crashes, speed, skids, fires, gambling, etc.. The best drivers and the best builders are famous within their sport and are treated like mini stars. Some of these RC cars go very fast and they can accelerate and take corners faster than their full-scale counterparts.

There are two basic sorts of RC cars which are differentiated by their power source.

Electric RC Cars: this is the most prevalent sort of RC car, probably because parents buy them for children and a newcomer to the sport may purchase one to see whether he likes it or not.

The largest advantage of the electric RC car is that they are silent, which is a big plus point if your children use their cars in the garden. It is also important if you would like to attach a camera or a video recorder to it for filming timid, wild animals like birds.

They are also less expensive than other kinds of model cars and smokeless, which means that you can practice manoeuvres inside if it is raining.

Some disadvantages are that the batteries of an electric RC car wear down. This means that the car will become slower and that the speed of the car will be regulated by the charge of the batteries not the power of the engine.

Batteries are expensive too and rechargeable batteries are very expensive to purchase. The batteries might run down whilst the car is some distance away.

Liquid Fuel RC Cars: there are two types of liquid fuel RC cars: those that run on a special mix known as Nitro and those that run on petrol. These cars are a lot faster than battery cars and they run for much longer too.

They are also cheaper to run. These facts make the liquid fuel RC car the choice of real enthusiasts, racers and car builders alike.

Petrol and Nitro are cheap in comparison with batteries and the amount that the engines of these cars get through is almost insignificant anyway.

However, they come with disadvantages too. They have an internal combustion engine, so they produce smoke, which means that they must not be used indoors and they are loud. Most racers would declare that this adds to the thrill of a race and they are probably right.

These model RC cars were meant to race and the public loves to see them doing it.

RC Car Racing As A Sport Or Hobby

RC car racing stands for the radio controlled racing of model cars. The models come in several types: they can be fantasy models or scale models of actual cars and trucks. After that, you can buy RC cars and trucks in various sizes or scales, the most well-liked being 1:9 to 1:12, but there are also huge models of 1:5. The third variable is the engine; electric, nitro or petrol.

Whatever sort of RC car you have, the kick of racing it is the same. Most individuals find the sport of RC car racing thrilling. Racing RC cars provides most of the thrills and spills of conventional car racing but without the risk to human life.

There are also different kinds of races ranging from racing around a circuit to cross-country, all-terrain racing.

Radio controlled racing cars are controlled by a games-style hand-set with a joystick on it. Your commands are transmitted to a receiver on board the vehicle by means of a radio. Some consoles can transmit quite complicated commands whilst others just steer the model.

Likewise, the models can be simple ‘go or not’, steerable racing vehicles or they can be nearly exact replicas of the real thing with replica suspension systems, lights and everything else deal. These super models are normally hand-made by enthusiasts. Most individuals buy either a finished model or a kit.

Children love the sport of RC car racing, but otherwise the sport appeals to men and women of all ages. The sport is still dominated by males, but more and more females of all ages are being drawn to the sport of RC car racing every year as well.

One of the good things about the sport of RC car racing is that it is simple to get going but there is also lots of scope to expand your interest if (or when) the bug bites. You might begin with a fundamental battery-powered 1:12 scale fantasy model, but soon move onto a 1:9 nitro-powered replica racing car or even a monster 1:5 scale model with a real petrol engine. You might even start building your own models

If you would like to get involved with the thrilling sport of RC car racing, it is simple enough. The best way to start is to get some information before you purchase your first RC car. You can do this by purchasing an RC car magazine, joining a model car club and/or by going to a few model car races.

RC enthusiasts love talking about their sport and most of them would be willing to reply to your questions. Whilst deciding on your preferred type of model, bear its maintenance in mind. You can hugely prolong the life of your RC model with proper maintenance, so you ought to purchase a car that you are able to look after.

If the first car or truck that you buy is not actually what you wanted, but it matches your level of skill, do not worry, there is always a learning curve with a new sport or hobby and as your competence increases you will be able to purchase one of the larger, more powerful, more complex models.

Popular Car Accessories And Gadgets

Most drivers adore gadgets and accessories and the chances are that, if you have a car, you do as well. Drivers love accessories and gadgets from the humble dashboard compass or radio to the on board satellite navigation system and the sophisticated CD or even DVD player. They increase the enjoyment that you get from your driving experience and help turn your car into a copy of the comforts that you have at home.

If you travel a great deal, driving can become boring and so some accessories and gadgets are designed to assuage that boredom although they should never divert the driver’s attention from the primary job in hand, which is getting safely from A to B. I have listed a couple of the most popular, non attention-diverting accessories and gadgets below so that you can see how many of them you already possess.

The number one, all-time favourite is the car radio, although this was long ago upgraded to the car CD , DVD or even MP3 player. Few drivers would be without their car stereo. The car stereo can be a very functional tool too, because you can set it so that, even if you are playing CD’s, the radio will cut in if there is a significant road traffic announcement that will or could affect you. This can be invaluable information, particularly if you do not have the next device.

The next most popular modern gadget is satellite navigation, often called sat nav or GPS, which stands for ‘global positioning service’. Sat nav can replace the radio announcement cut-ins and even go two steps further by suggesting an alternative route in order to circumvent the impediment and giving you directions how to do it.

An essential piece of equipment that every driver should have in the boot is jump leads. Fan belts loosen, batteries short out, all sorts of items can happen, but if you want to get on the road again without delay, the best thing you can have if you have a flat battery is your own set of jump leads. It is no good relying on someone to stop and help you get your car started hoping that they will have jump leads. Get your own, they only cost a couple of dollars.

If you have children that are a pain in the neck on long journeys, why not get them an in-car entertainment system? Strapped or cut into the rear of the front seats, the screens can display video games or films – a bit like aircraft seats, but more so.

If you like to travel fast but are cheesed off with speed cameras, why not install a speed camera detector? They are not that expensive and can be installed by yourself do-it-yourself. It could save you hundreds in fines and even your license.

In truth, there are far too many car accessories and gadgets to be listed here and I am sure that you could cite a dozen that I have left out, but the point is merely that car accessories and gadgets can enhance your driving experience and that is what it is all about at the end of the day.

Racing RC Cars

Are you into RC cars and trucks? Have you ever tried using one? Well, just driving an RC car is excellent, but you do not get the full pleasure out of the pastime until you try racing RC cars.

Racing RC cars is really exciting; you will never forget the thrill and excitement of racing RC cars and trucks against other competitors. Two other good things about RC racing are that it is not costly and anyone of any age or degree of fitness can take part.

For the uninitiated RC stands for ‘radio controlled’. The competitor utilizes a module, like a games console, with a joystick to control the car or truck. The module or console then transmits the commands to the receiver in the vehicle and the instructions are carried out almost instantaneously. The thrills and the spills are genuine, but nobody gets hurt.

There are various degrees of technology and complexity built into these RC racing vehicles. Indeed some individuals construct their vehicle themselves from scratch, while others purchase a kit and yet others buy a pre-constructed model. Some models are pretty basic whilst others are practically true scale models of the original full size version.

Individuals of all ages and both sexes enjoy racing RC cars and trucks and being disabled is not an obstacle to being a successful RC car racer. After you have bought your first car, you are sure to become hooked on the exhilaration of the game, the camaraderie of the meetings and the good-natured competitiveness of the racers.

When you are just beginning and before you purchase your first RC racing car, it is wise to do some investigation. Look on line and in Yellow Pages to see if there is a club or a race meeting near you. It is best if you attend a few of these first so that you have an notion of what is available and what you want.

When you see a vehicle that you like, do not be scared to go up to its owner and begin a conversation. RC racing car aficionados are a very friendly group and they will be more than willing to answer any queries you may have so long as you wait until the end of the race.

There is a lot to ask about. Do you want to build your own from a kit? It is not that hard if you can use a set of spanners. Do you want the vehicle to be powered by nitro, batteries or petrol?

Do you want a replica of a real, production line vehicle or a fantasy car? Do you want a car or a truck? What scale do you fancy? There are monster 1:5 scale models out there running on petrol!

There is a great deal to think about before you make your first purchase because you do not want to regret that vehicle, although on the other hand, you do not want to purchase something that you cannot cope with or maintain either.

There is a learning curve when starting racing RC cars and trucks, but it can be as steep or gradual as you want, after all, it is just a leisure pursuit, well, it is to some anyway.

Useful Gadgets For Your Garage

Are you a garage person or a shed person? Do you like your garden or your vehicle more? If you liked your garden more, you would have loads of gardening gadgets in there in order to make your gardening affairs simpler, so why not stock your garage up with gadgets for your garage, if you prefer to spend your time with your vehicle.

The kinds of gadgets for your garage on hand would be those that can be used in the garage and those that can be taken on the road with you in the vehicle or the truck. Specialized tools are some of the most common gadgets to have in the garage and the vehicle.

One of the most widespread gadgets for your garage or car is the distance sensor or parking sensor. This gadget can be fitted to your garage rear wall or fitted to the front and rear bumpers of your vehicle. These sensors are wonderful if your vehicle has blind spots, if the light is bad or if parking space is tight.

These parking sensors are very easy to set up and can be fitted DIY by practically everybody who can operate an electric drill and turn a screwdriver. When the gadget senses an entity at the limit of its range, it emits a beep, but as that object comes closer to the sensor, the beeps get louder and more frequent. With a little practice, you will soon be able to park your car inches from a wall or another vehicle.

An electric garage door operator is another great labour-saving gadget, especially on dark, wet or windy nights. Women in particular are often afraid of getting out of the car to open the garage door at night, so this gadget for the garage door can also be thought of as a safety gadget as you can secure the garage door behind you too before getting out of your vehicle.

If you or the kids have bicycles, they can account for a lot of storage space and you can easily run over one of them with your vehicle. Unless, of course you hang the bicycles on the walls around your garage. These gadgets for garages are fantastic space-savers.

If you need still more storage space, you can get storage boxes that can be hoisted up to the ceiling and lowered back down again for access to them. These gadgets for garages are particularly useful for storing items that you do not use very often, but cannot bring yourself to throw away.

Then there are gadgets for the garage that have more to do with your means of transportation. An air compressor is extremely useful. It can be used for driving power tools and cleaning off the engine and blowing the mud out of the wheel wells. Needless to say, you can also blow up your vehicle and bicycle tyres with it too.

A temperature gun is also useful for checking the quality of your brakes and tyres as well as bits of your engine for undue wear and a radar detector is useful for those who just cannot keep the pressure off the throttle.

Reasons For Installing A Sat Nav System

You have surely seen auto navigation systems in your friends’ vehicles and you could be on the point of getting one yourself. It is definitely true that the auto navigation systems are impressive and the price of a set-up has fallen quite radically over the last few years. There are indeed many benefits to be derived from using an auto navigation system, which is also known as sat nav.

In this article, we will take a look at some of the most important benefits of using a sat nav system.

Safety is of the utmost importance in whatever pursuit you undertake and safety has to be taken into account when driving too. It is difficult to know whether the world used to be a safer place or not, but it is a fact that these days more people are wary of getting involved with strangers than they were previously.

Lone drivers do not want to stop a stranger and admit that they are lost or even stranded. Maybe the stranger will send you into an ambush, set up hurriedly over a mobile phone as you drive off happily suspecting nothing. People have become very distrustful of strangers.

It goes without saying that lone female drivers are the most wary of asking strangers for directions, but families with children are often very wary as well.

Having an auto navigation system remedies this problem, because you will never get lost again, assuming that the sat nav console is wired to your car battery or you have spare batteries for a hand-held device in the glove box.

Confidence in getting to your destination on time, if you have left early enough, is another major benefit. Traffic jams, road works, accidents and natural disasters will no longer be surprises to you and your sat nave system will be able to propose alternative routes in order to avoid the obstacle. This is a very big advantage.

You will no longer have to leave really early to make sure you miss the traffic or to make certain you get somewhere on time. Sat nav will give your ETA. This can save you a whole load of stress, especially if you have to be in certain places for work or the kids all the way through the day.

Not to have to juggle with maps is a godsend as well. No more folding and refolding maps and struggling to remember portions of the route and then stopping to check and remember the next section of the route. Maps are always out of date too. New sections of motorway are always being added and small roads are sometimes closed for a new housing project. Paper maps just cannot keep up.

The last but not necessarily the least major benefit is the freedom an auto navigation system gives to you in your spare time. It opens up the countryside If you were always a bit nervous about going on a Sunday drive because you did not know the route or did not have a co-pilot to read the map, now you can just go with your auto navigation system.

Visiting Truck Driving Shows

Truck drivers work hard and are the backbone of the distribution system of most countries in the world. Our food and our requirements of life would just not be easily obtainable without trucks and their drivers. Trains, boats and barges cannot do the same job. There are certain to be some truck drivers who just see driving as ‘a job’, but it is probable that most drivers love what they do and love the way of life.

They are modern day cowboys supplying the food to where people require it. These truckers love their way of life and they love being with like-minded people, other truckers, which is why there are truck driving shows. Many truckers like to spend some of their free time every year at a truck driving show or two. These shows can last a weekend or even a week and are intended to be pleasurable events for the whole family.

At these truck driving shows, visitors can expect to find thousands of like-minded people, information on modern semi-trucks, discounted insurance, new semi-truck accessories and clothing. That is enough to satisfy the commercial sense of the trucker, but there is also food, live concerts, and other varieties of entertainment.

Truckers are regaled with heaps of information on all aspects of trucking: recent trends, recent regulations and laws, up-to-the-minute border crossing rules and much, much more. Visitors will come away with bags full of documents to read at their convenience later.

Kids love the stalls, the side shows, the food and the live bands, some of whom are very famous. These truck driving shows are real showcases. Real razzmatazz with all the fun of the circus.

Makers of semi-trucks and trailers put on exhibitions of the most recent models and frequently have professional drivers putting them through their paces before your eyes. You can also climb in to get the feel of being in the latest technology obtainable at the moment. It is not unusual to be offered a reduction, if you sign up for a new semi at the show.

Truckers are surveyed over and over again, but it gives them the chance to suggest changes to future models of semi. There will also be unique offers from insurance firms and chances to join truckers’ organizations and associations.

One of the most popular events is the Show and Shine, where working truckers show off there prized working vehicles. No show dogs here, only sheep dogs. All working trucks not just show trucks. Owner operators and independents really like them. They are for the true enthusiasts.

It is well-worth going to truck driving shows if you have never visited one. The truckers organization you are in should have a list of the truck driving shows in your area, otherwise you can go on line and find lots of them in the summer months. If you want to go for free, why not arrange a drop or / and a load in the area so the stay over pays for itself?

What They Do Not Want You To Know About Auto Navigation Systems

Auto navigation systems have improved a great deal since they were invented by the US military in the Sixties and Seventies. In fact, their development is a continuous process, as you can easily imagine. I remember in the Eighties when you received a fix on your location every twelve minutes or so.

This meant that ‘sat nav’ was great for shipping and yachts, but not much good for cars or other fast-moving vehicles. They were also rather expensive and quite large, not like the devices that cyclists can get in a wrist watch these days.

In spite of the fact that sat nav has advanced far enough for companies to be able to manufacture affordable auto navigation systems, there are still problems with them. But there is nothing new about that, it has become normal to start selling a product while it is still at some phase of improvement.

Look at MS Widows for an example; it is nearly thirty years old and still does not work seamlessly – it is still ‘under development’. The same holds true of auto navigation systems.

And part of the trouble is with the software running the device. Software is a very problematic thing, as Windows demonstrates to its users every day. I am not of necessity knocking Windows software, it is probably the best of its class, but then there is no real rivalry for it and that is a pity for all the usual reasons such as indifference, high-handedness and over-pricing, just look at Windows ‘Vista’. What an expensive heap of junk that was.

Needless to say, if Microsoft cannot get their software right, then auto navigation companies cannot either. Therefore, it is imperative to use an auto navigation device that either regularly updates itself automatically or permits the user to do it manually.

You need the latest bug-patches to the software and the latest updates to the maps. Ideally, the system should update itself every day automatically, but you should do it manually at least before each extensive journey.

The signal is clearly very significant too. In order to get a fix on your location at least three satellites must be able to ‘see’ your auto navigation system. If a fourth can verify the data, then so much the better.

This means that you may vanish ‘off the radar’, so to speak, if you are travelling under ground or in mostly built-up locations. Being tracked by one or two satellites is not good enough, there is no triangulation.

It is rational to assume that if you have a clear view of the sky, then the three or four satellites should have a clear view of you, but it is not an infallible check. The best thing to have with you is still common sense. Do not just depend on your auto navigation system blindly. If you think it is giving you a false reading, it might be.

In this situation, the best thing to do is think about whether you or it is right and check it with a map if you have one. If all else fails, take a bit of advice often made by Windows support, turn the device off, count to ten and turn it back on again – in other words, reboot it.

How To Make Money Buying And Selling Used Cars Part 4

In the first part of this short series on how to make money buying and selling used cars, we looked at what personal skills someone wishing to be profitable in this business would have to have. In the second section we looked at the best sites to locate such a business; in the third we looked at acquiring our stock – our cars or trucks and in this section, we will look at valuing that stock.

Whether you obtain your cars or trucks from auctions or from private individuals, you will have to be able to work out their value accurately, so, how do you determine the value of used vehicles? The simplest way to know a vehicle’s typical market, trade-in or wholesale value is to subscribe to a car dealers’ used car guide. Most western countries have one, but in the USA the most used one is called the National Automobile Dealers’ Used Car Guide or N.A.D.A.

NADA not only publishes monthly guides to second-hand cars, it also publishes monthly guides on older or classic cars, smaller boats, larger boats, SUV’s, mobile homes, RV’s, snow mobiles and motorcycles. Look them up on the Internet and sign up to their subscription list for the kinds of vehicles that you are interested in.

These used vehicle guides normally include foreign or imported cars nd trucks as well and are a consensus of sales and auctions over the whole country, therefore a little local knowledge is indispensable as well as your area may function at slightly above or slightly below the national norm, which could present you with additional opportunities for (wholesale) sales by shipping cars into or out of your region.

Sometimes or in some regions, a permit is required to run a used car business. This is nothing more than tax by another title usually, so simply requires you to pay a fee. In other regions, it may be a means of weeding out unscrupulous traders and may require an examination of same kind, so it is worth checking your district’s requirements before you start trading.

Some regions have laxer laws than others on buying and selling used cars, permitting ‘occasional sales’. ‘Occasional sales of motor cars or trucks’ is normally intended to be no more than five sales in a twelve month period.

When you are starting out you can make use of this allowance, if your district allows it, to keep your expenses down to a minimum in the costly early days of establishing your business, but once you see yourself passing this maximum quantity you should submit an application for a license straight away to avoid incurring any penalties. These penalties can be severe ranging from a fine to disbarment from trading, so be warned.

You will also need to learn how to collect taxes from your sales and your salary to yourself and to your employees. You will also need to learn how to hand these monies over to the right authorities on time, although your accountant or book-keeper can help you there.

Sat Nav For Stress-Free Travel

There are lots of reasons why you might be a prime candidate for an auto navigation system: If you travel to new locations often, say as a company representative; if the routes that you travel often are always being dug up, if there are regular traffic jams or if there are loads of traffic lights on it; if you want to avoid schools or shopping malls or if you just want to find a quicker or a more scenic route to your destination.

Many individuals would benefit from an auto navigation system, but there are several kinds of systems so it can be quite tricky to work out which one would be the best to suit your needs. In the rest of this article, we will take a more comprehensive look at these different types.

Sole purpose, stand-alone auto navigation systems are the kind that are frequently built into new cars by the manufacturer. However, that is the most expensive way of buying an auto navigation system, so it is worth getting one put in later, because then the cost of the unit does not go on the car’s finance deal, which would make the sat nav unit very expensive.

These devices usually bear subscription charges analogous to a mobile phone. This means that the sat nav unit is frequently sold for a very small profit, but the company makes its money from your monthly payments for the data feed. It is a very similar set up to the mobile phone deals.

The monthly fees are a bind, but the systems are bang up to date. The information in these units is updated live and you will be made aware of obstacles or hazards in the road ahead of you within minutes of them happening.

Multipurpose hand-held navigation units are auto navigation systems that do not offer quite as much detail as the stand-alones, but they can be upgraded by software additions to do the same job if you want.

However, because they are portable, they can be removed from the car and used in a boat or for hiking or cycling. In other words, the hand-held console is far more adaptable.

Laptop or Palm Top based models are designed to run on your computer. They are usually just as capable of delivering as detailed information as a stand-alone system and they are obviously portable too.

If you already have a portable computer then this is just about the cheapest, good set-up. You will get a top of the range, GPS auto navigation system on a large, laptop screen for only the cost of the subscription.

Satellite navigation is certainly here to stay, because young people like it. It can also be seen as a safety device for unaccompanied travellers. For example, if a lone traveller gets lost, there is no need to stop to ask directions or if your car breaks down out of town, you will know where you are located in order to direct the service to where you are.

GPS Car Navigation System: Trying To Get The Right One

In order to find out which GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) navigation system (also known as sat nav) is suitable for you, you first have to be clear on what you want to get out of the set-up. Will you be utilizing your GPS auto navigation system solely in your car or will you be requiring to use it to go cycling, hiking or boating? Another question is, whether you already own a laptop or palm computer or not.

There are dedicated GPS auto navigation systems for every situation and some are flexible enough to cover a couple of uses. The best systems are those that are devoted to doing just one job. In this category, you have the stand-alone vehicular GPS navigation systems. These are either cut into the dashboard or mounted on it or sometimes even onto the windscreen.

One good piece of advice, if you are buying a new car on finance is to have the sat nav installed by a third party or to pay the garage cash for the sat nav and its installation. If you have the price of the GPS auto navigation system put on the finance contract, you will end up paying a great deal more for it.

On the other hand, you could install the device yourself. I do not mean that you should cut holes in your instrument panel yourself, but you can buy mounting kits that use powerful transparent rubber suckers. They will hold the screen firmly, as long as you check them from time to time to make sure that the suckers are still holding.

You can get just as good a service from a GPS navigation system running on your laptop and the screen will almost certainly be larger that the average sat nav screen too. Your laptop will run off batteries or an in-car adapter and the software will run within the laptop.

This is an outstanding alternative if you already own a laptop or were thinking of buying one. The laptop will perform its normal tasks as a computer and double as a navigation aid with the added bonus that you do not have to leave it in the car as another reason for a thief to break in.

The cheapest alternative in the portable sat nav market is the portable or hand-held unit. However, the screens can be rather small and the directions may be given either in pictures or by voice, not all hand-held sat nav systems present both options at the same time.

If you want a GPS auto navigation system but you are finding them a bit expensive, you could always wait a while, because prices are dropping all the time. You could also check out online stores such as Amazon and eBay.

Remember, that the worst thing you can do if you are thinking about costs, is to put the cost of the sat nav on the car finance deal. If you really want a stand-alone GPS auto navigation system installed by an expert, take your car to a garage after you have bought it. Otherwise, run the software on your laptop and sit that on the seat next to you.

The Different Types Of Auto Sat Nav Systems

It is a bizarre fact that many purchasers of new cars are willing to pay several times the true value of a satellite navigation system in order to have it installed by the maker. It is true that the car’s manufacturer normally does an excellent job of installing the unit, but then you are paying through the nose for it.

If you bought the sat nav unit separately and had it fitted by a third party, you would buy it for a third or a quarter of the rate. Still, it is part of the idea of buying a new car to have all the latest apparatus built in to it. Satellite navigation, popularly called sat nav, is a real boon, if you buy a system that is up-to-date and that is frequently updated.

It is not necessary to have the sat nav fitted in the car factory in order to have it installed well. Many third party installers are quite capable of making a good job of it too without having to have your radio/CD player removed.

Many auto navigation systems are fitted to the dashboard by means of rubber suction cups anyway. Buying a sat nav unit that does not have to have holes cut for it will also keep the cost to a minimum without having to sacrifice quality or safety.

An important point to remember is that there are many kinds of GPS systems, each with rather specific uses. GPS for an ocean-going yacht does not have to have road maps, whereas GPS for a bicycle may not give sufficient advanced warning for the speed of a car.

Even if you purchase a GPS sat nav system for a road vehicle, there are different types. The three fundamental kinds are: stand-alone, such as you see installed at the car factory; hand-held and systems that are meant to be used with a laptop computer or similar device.

The stand-alone units are the most prevalent, because they have certain advantages: they are built for the job of getting you from A to B via C, D and E, if required; they carry a database of landmarks which will help you know that you are on the right route; a voice will give you directions so that yo do not have to keep referring to the screen and it will memorize and integrate previous routes.

Hand-held sat nav systems work, but require more thought and sometimes additional software to be provided by the user. The screen is usually too small to be of much use and some only provide voice directions. Others only provide graphic directions. However, they are better than nothing if you are walking or cycling in unfamiliar terrain.

Laptops and PDA’s offer an excellent service, especially if you already had the apparatus for other purposes such as office work.

So, it is not just a question of picking up a cheap sat nav system and thinking that they are all the same, you have to see it running so that you can weigh up whether it is going to be of any benefit to you in your situation.

Country Boys And Girls Around Georgia Have Plenty Of Mustangs

I live in North Carolina, so I know that there is obviously a lot of Ford Mustangs being sold in Georgia each and every day. The reason being is that there’s so many people that live in the Atlanta Georgia vicinity that it is basically impossible to not to locate a incredible bargain.

Considering the world wide web being as bad as it is,it is no longer required to drive all the way to Georgia to shop around for the vehicle of your dreams. You can simply use the net and do research according to location if you are hoping to find that vehicle you would like in your state (or any other).

Exactly why are Mustangs favored in Georgia? I have a theory. I recognize that country men and women in Georgia really love Ford Mustangs. They go wild over them simply because they love how they drive on the road. The fact is, there’s a certain coolness that goes along with driving a Mustang anyway.

With the economic climate like it is, you’ll find that there’s a lot more more private sellers that are trying to advertise their special Mustang on the web. It’s crucial that you observe these car listings quite often because they are bought in no time. So you should not wait around if you find what you want.

The Mustang is one of the most powerful vehicles you can drive on the road that’s street legal. They are well built automobiles that will capture your imagination as you drive them down the highway. It is no surprise they are so popular everywhere, not just Georgia.

The Ford Mustang is quite luxurious and looks terrific. In fact, nearly every year seems to be good for the Mustang whenever you look back in its history. The vintage Mustang are very popular with the “it” aspect, and even the later pre-owned vehicles seem to achieve the same sort of mystic.

Don’t let the grass grow under your feet if you are looking for a car online. Ford has made a number of excellent Mustangs over the years and you can find them online very easily if you will look often.

The Different Types Of RC Cars And Trucks

Radio controlled cars, remote controlled cars or RC cars and trucks are items, with which to have fun. However, many RC hobbyists take their fun very seriously indeed. They want their RC car or truck to be the most realistic or the fastest by tweaking the basic kit and by tuning up the engine. This is not a new phenomenon at all. Hobbyists have been building and racing model cars since the 1940′s. However, these early cars were hamstrung by technology.

In the early days of the hobby, the models had to be manufactured by hand by hobbyists and radio control was ineffective and too dear for home use. Those early models were controlled remotely by wire. Consequently remote controlled model cars could only run the length of the wire, which meant in effect that the car went round and round the handler. It was not until the 1960′s that radio control was available and this meant proper races around a proper race track. The true hobby-cum-sport of model racing was born.

After the hobby or sport had been opened up by real radio control, it became more exciting and it attracted more hobbyists and with them came improvement and commercial interest. This means that the technology involved in radio controlled cars and trucks has come on in leaps and bounds. One point worth mentioning here is that a big differentiation between model cars used to be whether they were remote controlled or radio controlled. Unfortunately, they are both shortened to RC and so the terms are often used arbitrarily these days.

The most popular RC cars for beginners are the electrically driven model cars and trucks. Electric RC cars have to depend on rechargeable batteries for power. This is their main drawback, but being electrically driven also means that the car is cleaner and more responsive to control. Electrically driven cars tend to be lighter and therefore faster. They are cleaner because there is no exhaust. They are easier to maintain, but also less easy to modify. They accelerate very quickly

The next step for many RC hobbyists is the Nitro car. Nitro cars are driven by miniature engines which run on a mixture of nitromethane and lubricating oil. These cars are very fast with a fast acceleration. They can reach and maintain higher speeds than electric cars, whose batteries are continuously running down which means less power for speed.

Nitro cars and trucks are loud and smelly. They produce the loud whine that people link with model racing, but they also produce exhaust which means that they cannot be used indoors.

More and more replica cars are now using petroleum powered RC cars. These models tend to be the bigger ones. These RC cars and trucks have engines that are more familiar to the non-specialist, but they have all the characteristics of an average car. They produce fumes, noise and are slower to accelerate that the other types. However, petrol driven engines will last longer than nitro engines. Because these models are larger, they can take more fuel on board and so travel longer distances.

All three of the above varieties can then be on-road or off-road. On-road cars will be made for racing only and the tyres will be racing tyres and the engines will be finely tuned to attain top speed quickly and maintain it for the length of the race. On the other hand, off-road RC cars are built for travelling up and down hill over all kinds of geological objects, so the engine has to have more torque and the tyres need to be able to sustain a good grip. These cars are usually slower.

The last distinguishing feature of the different RC cars is size or more precisely the scale. 1:8 was and still is very popular. That scale means that for every eight inches of the real car, the model is one inch long. Other popular sizes are 1:10 and 1:12, but there is a new class of RC cars and trucks gaining popularity, the monster 1:5 cars and trucks, which are petrol driven.

Deductions Can Help You Financially

The time will come when the cars that people have will become a burden financially. This is because they may not be in proper condition to run smoothly. This may result in multiple fine tuning procedures in order to make the car run properly. With this, you may want to donate your car to a cause.

Car donation is picking up some popularity nowadays for a lot of reasons. Depending on the particular cause where you want to donate your car to, you may surely be doing a great and noble act. It could be for some poor kids, a medical mission, for the sick elderly groups or a lot more. So all you need to do is select the appropriate place where you will donate your car for a cause. There are lots of organizations which you can find simply by searching online.

The good thing about car donations is that the IRS allows deduction on the car that are donated like potential tax deductions. The reason for this tax deduction is the fact that the donated cars will be recorded under the charitable contributions category.

If you are thinking of the car’s cost prior to placing it as a car donation, you may want to check the deduction amount that you will get together with the amount to be given to charity. Because of this, you may want to check several websites that may do car evaluation in order to know the amount. Once you donate the vehicle to your chosen place, then it is vital to keep track of the records for documentation.

One good point about the tax deductions given by car donation is that they can be used within the year. With this, it can be considered as one of the best moves that a person can do financially. Other tax deductions like education may not be available for a year. As long as you have the car’s title as the owner, then you will definitely get this deduction within the year.

But one thing that you must know about this tax deduction is that you have to wait until filing for tax is done before getting the deduction. One of the best moves that you can do is to process car donations at the year end since this is the time when taxes are filed and processed.

By searching online, you will see several charitable institutions where the car can be donated. You will also know a lot about the tax deduction by checking the information online and clarify the procedures involved in order to know a lot about this.

Instead of just leaving your car at home without any use, why not put it on car donation. In this way, you will be able to use the car properly by helping other people using your once precious car.

There are many car donation programs that are very helpful to charity. By donating your car to a charity program rather than selling it for a few hundred dollars, you may also be eligible for a car donation tax deduction.

Checking The Car Gauges On The Instrument Cluster

If you plan on using your vehicle for any extended period of time, and you want to use it within legal and mechanical limits, you should always maintain the car gauges on the instrument cluster. A lot of vehicle users can ignore these little displays, but that can lead to some serious problems down the road.

The minimum car gauges that must be included in an instrument cluster are the speedometer and the fuel gauge. However, there are many other readouts that most modern operators need, and many more that help you make sure you aren’t using the vehicle in a way that will cause some damage to the engine or structure of the car.

There are a full range of display devices that you can find on an average instrument cluster – everything from temperature gauges and tachometers to pressures gauges and volt meters. Many of us may not pay attention to these things on a daily basis, but they are critical components when it comes to diagnosing any problems with the vehicle.

However, this all depends on those car gauges working properly. If they are not, you could be running a vehicle and causing some serious harm without even realizing it. Manufacturers have included many warning lights that are attached to those gauges, but if the electrical system is having some problems it could be displaying misinformation.

Many of us have had the experience of being in a vehicle with a perpetual “check engine” light on. The driver doesn’t seem fazed, though, and simply tells you that it’s nothing to worry about – that it always does that. The scary thing, though, is that this also implies that they can’t really trust any of the other lights on the instrument cluster – or worse, maybe there are some lights that should be on but aren’t.

If you are not completely sure what you are doing with an instrument cluster, you probably shouldn’t try to remove or replace any of the car gauges on your own. You could do more damage than good as you try to remove the cluster or when you try to put it back in. Always consult a professional to make sure everything is done right.

It gets even more complex if you are dealing with a digital instrument cluster. There are plenty of analog and digital car gauges on the market, but the digital ones will probably require extra or specialized tools to diagnose any problems. In these cases it may be especially prudent to consult someone with more experience.

You really do need to pay close attention to your instrument cluster. Don’t assume that a perpetual warning light is okay to have. Make sure your car gauges are working right and you will have a better chance to use the vehicle for years to come.

If you’re a car person, chances are you have looked for an instrument cluster at least once in your life. Things likecar gauges can be difficult to find if you don’t know where to look. Online retailers make this process much easier for everyone.

Reviews About RC Cars And Trucks

I have read loads of reviews about remote control cars, because I am a subscriber to a remote control car enthusiasts’ magazine that carries articles about all the different sorts of remote control gas cars on the market. It also suggests the best one to buy depending on whether you are a first time owner or an RC old hand. The magazine is fantastic, and it helps me understand what other RC car owners feel about the different models and brands of RC cars and trucks.

I have to say that people’s views vary quite widely on every subject, which is why it’?s probably always best to do your own studying and get what best suits you, rather than getting what other people say will suit you, when they do not even know you. Having said that, many first time buyers do not actually know what they are looking for, and it is really these people that these reports are written for.

However, these reviews are not meant to be taken too literally, rather they are intended as a guideline so that prospective greenhorn buyers have to think about the aspects of buying a remote control gas car or truck. It also gives experts a run down of the salient facts. Then you need to make up your own mind whether you care, for instance, whether the car’s engine runs on gas or nitro.

All in all, I like this magazine because it considers people from all walks of life, and its writers and editor appreciate that even if you are interested in buying a gas remote control car, you may not have enough money or you might be reading just out of interest in RC cars or trucks.

We all understand that money is hard to come by these days, and consumers are becoming more and more well-informed about the goods they want, which is a good thing in my view. After all, there are other merchants who only desire to get the most money they can for their goods and mark up their RC model car prices to inflated amounts in the hope that they will get a couple of foolish patrons that did not do their groundwork.

And I am sure that they probably do get a few patrons like that, because they do stay in business somehow and I frequently hear awfulness stories about individuals who have paid far too much for their RC gas car or truck.

When you ask them why they did not take the trouble to read the reports in a magazine, they usually say that they did not know about the magazines, or even worse, that they did not have sufficient time. Therefore it appears that they had enough time to work like a dog for the money, but then not enough time to read a short magazine review? I doubt it very much. With a bit of luck, consumers will continue becoming more and more careful about their purchases.

It is such a pity, so, If you happen to be a new RC car enthusiast, or you know someone who is, please make sure you read the remote control car and truck reviews before concluding a purchase. It can literally save you hundreds of your hard earned dollars.

How Salvaged Cars Can Save You Money

People usually tend to consider that purchasing a salvaged car is a very unwise idea. This is probably prompted by the thought that having a car, which no longer looks new, will cost more in the end. Still, people buy these because the price levels of new cars have become more and more unreachable these days. This reality makes damaged cars that can still be repaired a welcome choice.

Of course, these cost less than those found parked in a second-hand car dealership. The only problem is that these are harder to locate despite the fact that some car dealers have it in their inventory too.

You have to admit these are definitely cheaper than any other car you will find in a used car lot. Looking for this can be quite a challenge, though it is possible that a used car dealer will have some in his inventory.

Another easier way to do this is by participating in salvage auto auctions. This may be rare in your city or town but you can still do this through the internet.

Some people don’t just look at their pockets when buying an item; they spend a longer time scrutinizing on its features before actually shelling out the money. This should be the attitude taken too in purchasing a salvaged car.

Those who launch salvage auto auctions even consider doing it as a necessity. Otherwise, no one would bid for it because nobody is aware of its situation. The price depends much on the cost of repairs the new owner will cover.

Generally, all the damaged cars listed for sale can be fixed. An auto dealer who wishes to make money will not sell something that buyers will find useless. A car may have all the ugly dents due to a collision and these can be some of the reasons why its previous owner sold it to a dealer. Other than this, the car may still be fine. All that needs to be done is to have the body rebuilt and repainted.

Nevertheless, these cars are cheap because of those collision marks. However, haggling over its prices may still be done. Dealers usually hold salvage auto auctions instead of allowing customers to haggle though. This makes the prices go up instead of getting lower. The advantage here is that the prices are fixed according to the quality perceived by those interested in buying it. Every bid offered is a measurement of the car’s quality.

Hybrid Car Myths

If you are thinking about buying a hybrid car, you may be hearing quite a bit of “gossip”. Some people think the hybrid car is the best thing since sliced bread. Some people say it’ll just pass. Still other people again say they think they can save a packet, but you’re not certain it’s really worth it. What’s the truth, and how do you separate myth from fact with all of the stuff that is being said to you? Below, you can read and consider the usual hybrid vehicle myths.

Hybrid cars are the same as electric cars: This is untrue because hybrid vehicles are fuel-powered for the most part. They have what are called ‘battery assists’. The assist is powered by a nickel-metal hydride battery pack that is rechargeable.

You are guaranteed to save money with a hybrid vehicle: If you are doing city driving, you may economize on gas and you may not. The same goes for motorway driving. There are just too many different factors involved. It has been said that if everyone bought hybrid vehicles, the fuel consumption would drop by only 10%. That’s not a very big difference, is it?

A hybrid cars battery can run out: A hybrid car battery should not run out while you are actually driving it. The engine of a hybrid car does not idle when stopped (at a red light for instance). What does it do instead then? It recharges its battery. So there’s no need to worry about a hybrid car stopping on that score.

A hybrid car’s rechargeable battery lasts only for 2 years: A hybrid vehicle definitely would not be worth buying if this was true. A hybrid vehicle’s rechargeable batteries normally come with an 8-year warranty.

If I run out of gas, I can keep driving on the hybrid vehicle battery: Bear in mind, a hybrid car’s battery is an assist. That means that hybrid car’s still run on fuel. After you run out of gas, the battery may keep the car running for a little while. However, the car will stop running very soon.

Hybrid cars will soon put normal car sellers out of business: I’m sure that this won’t happen anytime soon. The reason for the delay has to do with the how much hybrids cost. Most people just can’t afford one. Furthermore, people just aren’t certain whether they will actually save money on a hybrid car. Therefore, they are slow to join the rush of people who want to buy a hybrid vehicle.

Hybrid cars will only save you about $88 a year: I did hear something on the news once, but it may be untrue. If there’s something you really want and there’s a lot of rumour surrounding it, you simply have got to do some research yourself. There are many different types of hybrid car, and many different manufacturers make them. This means that there may be much more involved than we have time to discuss here. A hybrid car may be of use to you, and it may not, but at the end of the day, is up to you.

So, don’t worry too much about what people say. Do your own research and make up your own mind. Use the Internet to get information. The manufacturer’s advertising is also useful, if you stick to reading the facts and gloss over the hype. Check that what the literature claims is also in the guarantee.

Model RC Sports Cars

Do your interests in model remote control cars lie in high speed, fast acceleration and magnificence of form? If this is exactly what you are looking for in a model vehicle, then a model sports car is probably what you are looking for. Real size sports cars are a $4.5 billion industry with about 55,000 units being sold each year.

Sports cars and their model counterparts are manufactured as high performance machines, which means that they can be driven in ways that normal assembly line cars can not. For example, in the case of a real sports car, it frequently takes no more than five seconds to go from 0 to 100 mph. Likewise in a model high performance gas replica, it often takes no more than two seconds to reach 60 mph from a dead start.

Because it is more tricky to maneuver a speeding automobile, sports cars and model sports cars are specially designed to handle best at high speeds. In deed, the word “sporty” was invented to refer to a sleek but robust design that exudes power. It was later personified to refer to the person behind the wheel or in the modelling world, the person at the remote controls.

The following is a basic glossary of sports car terminology and a basic list of sports car manufacturers (many of which have their counterpart vehicles in the world of model gas remote control cars).

- FF ? front engine, front wheel drive. The FF layout has a moderate capability for high speed handling and is seen in some models such as the Fiat Coup?, and the Lotus Elan M100.

- FR ? front engine, rear wheel drive Considered the ?classic? sports car design, the engine drives the rear wheels but keeps the weight off the back. The FR is good at drifting corners while still maintaining control. Mercedes-Benz is recognized for using this design for its models.

- RR – rear engine, rear wheel drive With the engine at the back driving the rear wheels, weight placement on a RR layout provides outstanding traction for a car. However, without auxiliary driving aids like stability control, handling becomes difficult. These days, the only manufacturer who keeps the RR layout for its cars is Porche.

AWD – all wheel drive An AWD design offers the easiest handling, making it perfect for those who are just starting to race sports cars. Audi started the widespread use of this technique with the Quattro. Japanese makers like Mitsubishi employed this layout to increase handling, making it an excellent rally car.

Because of more stringent regulations in the United States, sports car manufacturers are more prevalent in Europe than in America. Nonetheless, American brands are in equal competition with their European and Asian counterparts. Some recognized manufacturers and models are:

Alfa Romeo; Alpine; Aston Martin; Austin-Healey; BMW; Bugatti; Caterham; Davrian; De Lorean; Ferrari; Fisker; Jaguar; Koenigsegg; Lamborghini; Lotus; McLaren; Maserati; MG; Morgan; Panoz; Porsche; Triumph; TVR; Vector.

If this article has whetted your desire for a sports car, go out and buy one now, if you are well-off. If not, why not do the next best thing and get yourself a 1:8 or even a 1:5 gas-powered, remote-controlled sports car?

Remote Control Models – The Helicopter

If you like remote controlled models and have lots of space, then you may want to think about purchasing one of the new big remote control helicopters that have recently been introduced by several makes. These helicopters, which can sometimes be as big as ten feet long, rival genuine helicopters in agility. They are expensive and can cost three thousand dollars or more.

As with many fads, some people just have to have one of their own. So, the next time you are walking in the park and you see a helicopter flying in the region, look again closely. At first you will most likely think that it is a real helicopter that is simply further away then you first thought. But look again and you will almost certainly see someone controlling the helicopter with a huge remote control box.

If you see one of these remote controlled helicopters in flight, deem yourself very fortunate. Because it is so expensive to own one of these beautiful models, they are also still pretty rare. However, because I am an ardent collector myself, I have considered buying one of these big remote control helicopters, and I even put a bid on one in Ebay once, but in the end I did not get it and instead decided to wait until the price comes down a bit more.

Just as with any new, trendy item, big remote control helicopters are the latest fad, but in a few years, I am sure there will be a better supply and the price will fall. Then I will be ready and waiting to buy. But until then, I have a very bighearted and rich friend who owns one, and I will rehearse flying his. I have already taken it out once – it is so much more powerful than the normal, small remote control helicopters that you are most likely used to. When you first turn it on, the big remote control helicopter?s rotors spin with such ferociousness, that you may worry that you are going to break something. and then, when it lifts off the ground, you will experience a huge sense of achievement, knowing that you are the one who is controlling it.

And if you are able to make a successful, smooth landing as well, then you can truly call yourself a helicopter pilot, because even those very experienced with small remote control helicopters will be impressed to see someone land a big remote control helicopter, because it really is completely different. So if you happen to be lucky, well-off, or just single-minded enough to purchase one of your own, take pleasure in your time with your giant helicopter.

I assure you that it will be one of the most exhilarating experiences of your life. For me, the entire process was surreal, and when it was all over, I had to call everyone I knew and tell them how I had flown a 10 foot helicopter and landed it smoothly. I bet that?s how pilots feel the first time they fly a real aircraft.

Porsche 977 Carrera Sports Car

A new Porsche 911 is always intriguing because it’s exciting to see how after more than 40 years of development the Porsche team still manages to bring alterations and advancements to this iconic exemplar.

The new 997 blends the silky modern appearance of the 996 series with the popular retro styling of the older 911′s. The front end is finished with round lamps and separate parking/fog/indicator lights. This modification, combined with broader hips resembles the last of the air-cooled 911′s, the 993. Other changes in the body shell are the new door handles, wing mirrors and the smart cut of the rear wings into the bumper/lights.

Even if the 997 looks a lot like the preceding model, the 996, the new car is in point of fact 38mm wider which makes for a more forceful look. With each new model brought out, Porsche has tried to reduce the drag co-efficient helping the 911 glide through the air more efficiently thereby aiding performance. The same thing has been done with the new car, and if we compare the 993 Cd of 0.34 to the 997`s 0.28, we can see how far the aerodynamic game has moved on. The latest body shell and rear wing combine with new under body paneling to also offer increased levels of down force for this latest evolution of Porsche’s best.

The latest Porsche model has the best handling 911 ever. Improving a car’s firmness helps ensure that the suspension is able to work more efficiently and while not making such a quantum leap as the team did with the 996, Porsche improved torsional rigidity by 8% and added as much as 40% more strength.

For their new model car, Porsche wanted to enhance crash safety provisions so they added two new air bags, which are located in the side of each front seat back-rest and are calculated to protect the thorax. They also kept the earlier two front and two side airbags, which means that now there are six air bags in total. For the same reason, that is crash safety, the reinforced body shell features additional protection such as a more widespread use of very high strength steel.

The most recent model is also 50 kg heavier than the 996. The reason is that current crash safety regulations kind of force vehicle manufacturers to produce new cars of increased weight, despite the widespread use of a large range of weight saving measures, such as an aluminum bonnet.

Aside from the crash safety improvements, much of the increased weight can be attributed to the higher standard specifications of the new cars. The power to weight ratio is similar with the latest car offering 233 bhp per tonne against it’s predecessors 238 but the new model’s improved aerodynamics must help it achieve Porsche’s claimed performance figures, which are identical to those of the 996.
